The pub started out as an inn back in the 19th century and was recently refurbished overseen by formidable chef Andreas Antona of Simpsons Restaurant in Birmingham, to reveal its original features – focusing on the open kitchen, overseen by Chef Adam. Now the proud holder of a Michelin Star, you can expect a warm welcome, friendly service and stunning dishes, cooked using the very best local ingredients.
Adam’s career began at the Dorchester, London cooking under esteemed chef, Anton Mosimann OBE. Since then, he has cooked at several high profile restaurants – most recently Simpsons, the long-standing Michelin-starred restaurant in Edgbaston.
In January 2013, Adam and his commis chef, Kristian Curtis achieved the best result ever for a UK team in the Bocuse d’Or – the world’s most challenging and prestigious cooking competition. In May 2015, Adam reached the finals of Bocuse d’Or when he secured 6th place in the European finals in Stockholm, against some stiff competition.
