Hugh has personally created these exciting new one-day courses and supper to give just 10 guests a deeply memorable River Cottage experience. Dates announced throughout the year. The recipient will be informed of available dates as they are released, once they contact us.
In the course of an afternoon and evening you will spend time both cooking and chatting with River Cottage founder Hugh, in the Kitchen Garden, in the Cook’s School, and around the table. You will cook alongside him, and join him and the River Cottage team in creating a fantastic feast for the end of your day.
Arriving at River Cottage HQ at noon, you will be greeted personally by Hugh, who will chat to you over coffee and a snack about the River Cottage philosophy, and the 25 year journey that has led him to embrace it. After a walk with Hugh in the garden and farm to select some key ingredients (some grown, some wild), he will lead you in a veg-based cooking session in the Cook’s School. Hugh will then hand over to one our River Cottage tutor-chefs for the second cooking session, on either meat or fish, which will become part of your meal at the end of the day. As the kitchen brings together a delicious feast based around the dishes you have made, Hugh will re-join you for drinks before supper, and will be happy to sign your books, take pictures with you, and answer any more of your questions. Then you will sit down with Hugh to enjoy the unique and personal menu which you have all created together.
Everybody will get to choose a River Cottage book signed by Hugh to take home, along with a bundle of River Cottage goodies, as a memento of this unforgettable day.

Cookery School Experience Vouchers
Our Experience Gift Vouchers are redeemable at the cookery school you select, off classes and courses subject to availability, or even towards a 'Learn & Stay Experience'' if they provide them. Plus also redeemable off all our other participating experience providers and in our Gourmet Gift shop. So, even if your recipient wishes to change their destination, class or provider, they can always be assured of a memorable GourmetXperience.
Priceless Experiences: Specific Experience Days and Celebrity Chef days such as this one, are priced individually. So if you select the full price, we will omit the price from your gift and simply detail your chosen experience and where it is hosted. If you select an alternative priced product, which can be put towards and Experience Day, then we will indicate the value on the gift.
Each of The Cookery Collection experience providers deliver individually assessed, professional cookery experiences, cookery classes, Chef or GourmetXperiences which you can purchase for your desired venue. Gifts can be provided as Experience Days, or Half Days at your chosen venue, or for an amount towards a cookery class, from as little as £25. Each of our Cookery Collection listings indicate the cost of each gift as a guide. You can spend as much or as little as you like!
All experiences are MIN 4 hours, and provide food which may include lunch and drinks, unless otherwise indicated.
Recipient, How to Redeem: Your gift will detail what the experience includes, or the value of the experience purchase and for where you have purchased it. Then, when they choose to redeem, they simply email us with their unique reference, and we will act as a concierge with your chosen venue, advising the recipient of what they will receive, and instructing on the value of the experience. Your voucher will then cover all or part of your chosen experience, based on what you paid. If your recipient wishes to upgrade, they can pay the difference, or if it for less than the experience, they will receive a credit to spend elsewhere with us!
T&Cs: All gift vouchers are valid for 12 months. All prices are a guide at point of creation. Prices may vary at point of redemption. Any difference in prices will need to be paid by the voucher holder at point of booking. Or a lower price class booked and a credit can be transferred to an additional purchase at the venue or with us. Extensions for a small admin fee of 10%. No refunds. No commission charges. Cookery Experience Day prices may vary. 'Experience Days' do not guarantee a space on any course or class. If your preferred class, course or special day is unavailable, you may choose an alternative date at that venue, or one of our other 'Cookery collection' venues. Or your purchase price will go towards any course of the same or higher value. No part redemptions. Any excess values can go towards purchases with your chosen cookery school or experience provider, or a voucher can be re-issued for the remaining balance to spend in our Gourmet Gift shop, or towards an additional GourmetXperience..
