Cookery Schools Collection : Tewinbury Cookery School, Hertfordshire
Tewinbury Cookery School, Hertfordshire
Newly opened in Summer 2022, Tewinbury Cookery School is a Hertfordshire Gem perched on the banks of Welwyn’s meandering River Mimram.
Part of a 700-acre farmed estate, the school is surrounded by picturesque lakes and woodlands, perfect for post-cookery country walks – and guests can choose to stay in one of the estate’s rustic woodland cabins or shepherds’ huts. Led by Chef Tutor Lee Maycock FCGC, who has experience in Michelin Star restaurants and hospitality providers over recent years, Tewinbury focusses on fresh, seasonal and local dishes that are as sustainable as they are delicious.
The school uses only premium and primarily organic ingredients from their home-grown gardens and local producer network, while artisan ingredients sourced further afield are sourced purely for their outstanding premium quality. Whether you’re a total novice or you’re looking to hone your craft, Tewinbury’s relaxed and friendly atmosphere is the perfect place to learn – and there’s a broad range of courses on offer.
How about learning to create the ultimate Bottomless Brunch? Or venturing out to forage and cook with Wild Food? Plants, Roots, Grains and Greens is another popular course, and there are seasonal offerings to get you in the mood, like Halloween Tricks and Treats.
You’ll also find masterclasses in meat, fish, shellfish, artisan bread-making, plant-based cookery, chocolate and wild game. And after an enjoyable day’s cooking, you can relax and unwind with a glass of bubbles with a stunning river view.
